Overview

2Subs is designed to show, translate, read aloud, and style subtitles in your browser. Some features require a 2Subs account and an active paid subscription.

Data We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on this website.

Account and Billing Data

If you create an account, we process your email address, authentication status, password-reset or verification activity, subscription status, plan interval, and payment-provider identifiers so you can sign in, manage access, and use paid features. Payments and subscription management are handled through Polar. We do not store your full payment card details.

Extension Data

The extension stores your preferences, such as subtitle settings, enabled state, language choices, appearance settings, and learning-mode toggles, in browser storage so the product can work across supported streaming sites.

Translation and Learning Tools

When you use Translate, Pronunciation, or Read out loud, the selected subtitle text may be sent to the 2Subs backend and configured AI providers so those features can return translated text, pronunciation guidance, or speech audio. We use this data to provide the requested feature and operate the service.

Usage and Product Analytics

We collect operational usage metrics to understand and improve 2Subs, including extension install, update, and uninstall events; anonymous installation identifiers; active usage sessions; subtitle viewing minutes; feature counts for original subtitles, translated subtitles, pronunciation, and read aloud; checkout starts; billing portal opens; subscription status changes; backend errors; and webhook status. We may use Cloudflare request information to record country code, hashed IP-derived fingerprints, and hashed user-agent fingerprints for abuse prevention, reliability, and aggregate analytics. We do not store raw IP addresses in the product analytics event table.

What We Do Not Store in Analytics

Our usage analytics are designed not to store subtitle text, translated text, passwords, OTP codes, access tokens, refresh tokens, raw authorization headers, or full IP addresses. Subtitle text may still be processed transiently when you request Translate, Pronunciation, or Read out loud.

Admin Dashboard

2Subs uses an internal password-protected admin dashboard to review aggregate product, billing, usage, reliability, country, install, uninstall, and feature metrics. The dashboard is intended for operating and improving the service, not for selling data or advertising targeting.

Website Data

This static website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, and request path as part of hosting and security operations. We also use DataFast on this website for privacy-conscious website analytics and checkout attribution. When available, DataFast visitor and session identifiers may be passed to Polar checkout metadata so subscription purchases can be attributed to website activity.

Data Retention

We keep account, subscription, and usage records for as long as needed to provide the service, understand product usage, prevent abuse, maintain billing history, and meet legal or operational requirements. You can contact us to request help with account or privacy questions.
